We were based in Montecatini for 4 nights which is a real treat on an escorted tour. Usually, you are moving hotels every 2 days. I had a free day while everyone went to Siena. I'd already been there so opted not to go again.
I walked through this large park to catch the cable car up to Montecatini Alto which is the old city on top of a mountain.
I didn't do anything to these trees - the bark really looked like that! Don't know what they are but i thought their trunks were interesting. I was using my little camera because I needed a break from lugging around the Nikon. :-)
