St Andrew's Castle Ruins

St. Andrews, Scotland

The ruins of this castle sit on the headlands of St Andrews. It dates in part from the 13th
century and was the home of the archbishops of St Andrews. According to the welcome sign,
it was the scene of violent sieges, medieval murders and devious plots. I had a headset to
listen to all that history, but there wasn't enough time.

Looks beautiful now and immaculately landscaped too. Wonderful shot with the ocean in the background. "V"

tingles with a sense of place and moment...this was the second most enjoyable place encountered in St Andrews, not so far behind Lafferty's Bar..

Beautiful setting for the castle, and an excellent capture of its ruins. V.

What an incredible setting. The work that went into setting all that stone is almost unimaginable. Great catch! V
