Stand in the Road
(08.04.05)

To stand in the road
And feel the wind blow
Across the sands of time
You know I'd like to make it mine

Life today is frittered away
Each in our own way, we live for today
And never know why

To stand in the road
And feel the wind blow
Across the sands of time
You know I'd like to make it mine

I like the incongruity of the basketball ring out in the middle of nowhere ... perhaps kids use it while they are waiting for a school bus? The tones are just beautiful! :)

Beautiful photo. Love the tones and the great sense of distance.

Not quite so simple as the farms I grew up with but it sure opened my memory bank. My dad coached basketball, baseball, football (six-man) and track for years in our tiny farm town..... This would probably bring tears to his eyes.
Needless to say, awesome photo.

As with yesterday's image, I really like what the fog brings to the overal composition and the mood it evokes. Excellent treatment and crop as well.

Very beautiful. I like how the fog kind of soaks up the picture and yet you left some clarity within it. Fine job.
Guest 05-Aug-2005 01:58
LC, you're really on a roll with this mono treatment and this is another beauty. Great grab with the basketball pole/hoop in the middle of nowhere like this to create an interesting image with a lot of depth and a good dose of intrigue.

Love the use of fog and light to emphasize the depth of field. Fine shot. The wide aspect ratio is excellent as well.
