Full Rehearsal
(01.18.05)

Not much to show for today's photo harvest. This is a composite from last night's full rehearsal of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore. I kind of like the curve that these two shots make. I've come to the realization that the Nikon 5700 is not made for shooting motion in low light...180 shots taken and nearly all tossed. I want a D20 and those nice clean high ISOs <:o) Here's a few other shots from previous rehearsals:

Nikon Coolpix 5700
1/4s f/3.3 at 17.8mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Rehearsals appear to be going well. The stage lighting is lovely.

I also think that the colours and images that you show are very good performance records... admittedly though thats a very high reject rate, and another camera may help reduce that rate.

Vivid performance shot! Very well done!

I think the shots are brilliant, notwithstanding the camera's limitations. The Canon 20D and the Nikon D70 both perform admirably at ISO 1600, although you sacrifice the crispness of the image you see here.
(180 deletions ...humm ...sounds like my kinda day :) )

Well these that you posted came out well. Rich color.

They still came out quite nice for such low light :)

Still good pic though

The images are beautifully composed and lit, even if some parts of them are a bit fuzzy. If it is any consolation, I experienced the same problems with my 5700 in low light.

20D or D70 that 's the way in fact
I have the same probleme with my G3
But you realize a nice pic too
with great blue tones
