Exploring the Cellar Caves
(11.10.04)

(Day 36) So starts my shift to low-light photography. I took this during lunch yesterday, it's the scene under the Govenor's Palace in Williamsburg and the nooks and crannies where lies the stash of wines and spirits ;o). Few venture down to the basement probably because it is dark and spooky, but the camera is able to capture this better than the eye and create a fun old world mood don't you think? The two end images were shot with 8sec shutter speed, the middle with 4sec. -- LC

Nicely done, love the sequence and yes, it has a bit of mysterious feel to it.

Sounds to me like you did everything right and the photos prove it. Very well done.

If I went down there, I might never come back up. :) Neat photos.

Looks superb, reminds me of the haunted caverns underneath Edinburgh old town!

Hey Robin, actually not hand held... shots were taken from tripod and using remote shutter release. These are the first low-light shots I've taken with this camera (are you looking in Original format). I probably still have much to learn. Thanks so much for your comment. If anyone visiting this image is using this camera, I would appreciate any insights on low-light photography.

Great idea to work on this technique. Hand held it looks like?
