Through the Veil & Back Again
(10.26.04)

(Day 21) There are few images that I have felt a desire to redo, and this is one of them. I took the shot below almost a year ago to the day. Hurricane Isabel had ravaged the countryside, stripping trees of most leaves and for the most part destroying the fall colors. This morning, a year later, I again came upon this familiar scene but now in color. Here's Through the Veil revisited.

The composition is excellent, but it's the light that makes this image stand out. Beautiful!

This one is a killer! Very nice. Usually we only dream of finding the light just right like this, and then capturing it is another story. Very nicely done.
Regards, Tim

Thank you Cindy... no nothing added. I do have a screen for my lens and angle of the sun has a lot to do with it. On last year's shot I ended up with a mild glare in the center that I had to polish out in Photoshop.

This is gorgeous, I love the light rays, did you add them or did it come out like this? I have attempted to get pics with the light rays, and to no avail, what is the secret??

Nice caption, I prefer the colder shot, it gives more the feeling of the cold season.

This is quite an extraordinary photo, and much better than the original. This proves that return visits to favorite sites can yield beautiful opportunities. The transient nature of light is amazing...
