This must be the new camera! I had to look it up because the model number is different in Europe and the United States. (For us it's a Powershot SD890 IS.) I see that it has 10 megapixels. That's going to be great for you, since I know you like to be able crop down to specific elements in your photos.
It's a lovely crisp photo, with great colors. I particularly admire the white on white--- the seagull and the clouds came out very well and quite distinct in color from each other. You're quite right with your title. The seagull looks just like a sentinel watching over the harbour.
