This is a terrific photo for showing how big the prickly pear can become under the right conditions. They can create wonderful shapes, too. Just like with clouds, you can have fun trying to pick out forms suggested by the paddle groupings. It's also interesting to see the blue morning glory flowers taking advantage of the support offered by the cactus. In other climates, morning glories grow on bushes and trees. This works just as well!
