When I saw these plants growing from the wall, I was reminded of John Hersey's book, HIROSHIMA. He interviewed six people who had survived the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and followed them for years. The book made clear that the human will to survive is astounding. These plants impressed me in a similar way.
