September, 2016 - Sharon Nelson Chisholm and husband Gerry are happy and healthy in the Ozarks. We are enjoying retirement and busy with volunteeer work and a few trips. Happy fall everyone!


Graduated California College of Arts and Crafts with a BFA in painting. Married to Gerald Chisholm of Memphis, TN. We have lived outside Mountain View, AR, since 1972. Both of us are artists. Blessed with two sons, Slate and Forrest. Forrest is married, lives nearby, and has four children. Slate is in Nashville TN.

From the Chisholm house to you and yours….
This year has been like stepping stones, so many changes. Deaths in the family included Sheri’s mother Ruth Hargraves Nelson in February and more in the extended families. There have been weddings and births; travels and visits with family and friends not seen in a long time. Sheri had lost the visual centers in the back of her eyes, but this was restored surgically in March.


Son Forrest and Shawna have a big growing foursome that keeps their house busy and happy. He is tending the Stihl line of saws and other tools at TD Builders and doing mechanic work for them. Shawna is keeping the home fires burning and tending all those precious lives they are raising.

Slate and Kristina are freshly returned from a month in Europe. She has signed for a new book.


He continues to enjoy police work, has become a field training officer, and is part of the Big Brother Big Sister program.

From Sharon Nelson Chisholm - Our own news: Gerry and I are both well, enjoying mountain view. We have lived here since 1972, 44 years. We are outside town in a wooded retreat. This is our 50th anniversary year. We are involved in the arts and in church outreaches.

One of our sons, Forrest, lives in this area, has a beautiful wife and 4 children. He is a Stihl mechanic. The other, Slate, is a police officer, 10 years with Nashville metro. He works in the projects at night, by choice. Prayers for his safety are appreciated. He too is married, to author Kristina Ellis. Her current books are Confessions of a Scholarship Winner, and the recent release How to Graduate Debt-free. Both are available in stores and on Amazon. Any high school age student and their parents would find these books useful and highly readable.
