Dick Prange

I graduated from Ole Miss in 1967, entered the army as a musician, got my free trip to Asia (shortstopped in Japan ), and settled in Atlanta in 1970, managing commercial real estate for the last 25 years.

I'm still an active musician with the Air National Guard Band of the South and numerous big band jazz groups. Managing real estate pays for my music habit. I have three grown children and one grand daughter and more hobbies than I can afford. . . .

Now that I have retired from a career in commercial property/facility management in the Atlanta area, it is time to work on the “bucket list”.

After Central High I graduated from Ole Miss in 1967 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Bands Program which took me to Atlanta and Tokyo, Japan. I never returned to Memphis and settled in the Atlanta area in 1970, raised three children, played music every chance I could, and always had another career to pay the bills. I was in the Georgia Army and Air National Guards and retired after 37 years total service, 24 years with the Air National Guard Band of the South.

I now am a part-time jazz bass and sax instructor at Jacksonville State University in northeast Alabama, a reasonable commute from our home in Marietta, Georgia. And the great thing is – my wife Jennifer understands!

Music has always been my passion for which I have Buddy Skipper at Central High to thank, many times over. For now, Rock On, Music Lovers! . . . . . . . . .
