I haven't sent any pictures because I am not into digital pic and all that. In fact, I am what you call 'Low Tech' and have been drug (dragged) into the new millineum
I have been living in the New Orleans area since 1981. Intially, I didn't like it here. I didn't change the stations on my car radio from Memphis stations, and kept waiting for someone to send me a one way ticket to Memphis for 6 months.
However, after a while of sucking the tails, (crawfish term), getting lagniappe and second lining, I began to fit in. It is stressful living here during hurricane season, but we bide our time by having Hurricane parties, and going to the drive thru Daquiri shop!!
New Orleans is known for being the original Party City. That rolls over into every other facet of life here. If there are more than 2 people gathered together, ya got a party going.
I am currently single again and live in Metairie with my grown son and our toy poodle, Pooh, and our boxer Tabasco. I am working as a Claims Adjuster with a major insurance company. I handle Personal Lines Boat and Yacht damage claims for the U.S.
There is always something to do here, many activities outdoors as we have about 3 days of winter. We are close to the Biloxi beaches, flights to Mexico and lots of casinos if you like that.
The only problem here is the heat and humdity which will just about kill you.
My son and I have joined a Mardi Gras Krewe and will be
'parading' for the first time next year 2004.
