Growing Ginger & Turmeric at Home

The sequence below shows how you can start with some ginger or turmeric
bought from a normal food shop.

As soon as you can see a very small bud on one of the roots,
this is worth planting in some ordinary compost or soil, in a pot by a window.

The next few pictures show some that grew to almost 3 feet high
over August & September 2016

The final ones show established plants grown in pots over 18 months,
having a spell out in the garden whilst it was warm enough.

Final point: in the UK Ginger & Turmeric should be kept indoors from October - May
