It is hard work looking for food when the pastures are drying up and nutritious food is getting scarce. But these wildebeest know that to survive, they have to move on and look for food elsewhere, sometimes covering miles on foot each day. So they push on in the blistering heat of the day, ignoring the sun that beats down mercilessly on their shiny black hides -- Shooting in harsh midday sun is often a big taboo for photographers, but sometimes, like in this case, we can take advantage of this because I think it is this harsh lighting here that really made my story.
