1 Neil Road brings back many memories for me, it was here that I had my first job as a guitarist in a night club known as Toby's Paradise catering to american sailors, I was 17 then and an illegal taxi from Geylang to Tanjong Pagar cost S$0.40 cents and my salary was S$200 per month, a fairly large sum in 1964, especially to a kid who used to get 5 cents a day.
