Mexican Poppy

I admit it, I don't know the correct flora name, but this is one of my favorite flowers. They grow really well in my yard, unlike most everything else. If you go in our backyard in summer, it is typically about 10-20 degrees hotter than it is out front. No one knows why, and it isn't a large yard! I pulled a Sayer and used my 430EX flash with the Lumiquest on it.

Beautiful photo. The detail in the flower with the DOF makes the photo look 3D to me.

such a lovely delicate pink.... if you burn the bottom of the stem after picking them, poppies last longer indoors (you probably know that)... gives you more chance to photograph them! Very nice.
