I like the light to dark, the concept, and the composition.
DoF could be a bit greater so that the foreground of the broccoli was in focus. Looks dark so you may have just had the aperature down low to get the shot in focus. The focus seems to be on the mid to tail of the bird. Also it looks like the flash washed out a bit of the color.
