Doug Smith

My previous effort for contrast used a flower with soft purple tones that looked fake when made contrasty for the Assignment. I replace it with a Turk's Cap Lily which is really that color. Bright sun after a quick thundershower does the rest. I took this at a smaller aperture to get more of the flower sharp but f/11 made the background detail too obvious. Very 3D flowers like lilies require chosing carefully where you want sharpness to start and stop.
