Steve Fink

This was my first visit to Lake tobias near Halifax,Pa. It is a wonderful seeting of over 150 acres most of the wildlife roams freely. The prices are quite reasonable for entrance and the concession stand. Extras include a Safari open bus tour and a reptile show that includes rare animals such as porcupines and others. Please visit the gallery at:

Used to live in Kenya in the 1980s, and there were flocks of literally hundreds of these beatiful Crowned Cranes that would congregate every day in a harvested corn field. Never got close enough to get a great picture like this one, but our yard worker had to catch a young one (at least 3 feet high) that couldn't fly well yet and put it back over the fence where the parent birds and many others were putting a very noisy fuss calling it back to where they were, but to where it couldn't go due to the barbed wire fence.
