Bruce Ward Processing
by Bruce Ward

In C1 5 Pro, I left all the settings at the default.
I set the WB on one of the darker gray road tiles.
It warmed it a little bit. I made two renderings, one at 0 EC and one at -1.00 EC.
Both converted to 16 bit tiffs.

In CS4, I blended both conversions using an action based on a procedure
used in astro photography. It allows the highlights and mid tones-shadows
to be manipulated separately. In effect toned down the highlights a little
and brought up the midtones-shadows with curves. Added local contrast enhancement
using USM 10-250-0. Flattened. Cropped a little on the left and a little on the bottom.

Converted to b/w using a custom routine that a friend gave me.
Applied an S curve I use on b/w conversions. Boosts the contrast a little.
Added platinum toning using a curve from ePaperPress. These are free and well
worth using. Added edge darkening with a vignette action I regularly used.
