The Sugar House

Barton, Vermont

It's quite old and has served well for many years. There's no electricity or running water. It has had a few renovations, including a new roof and a Loo (left). The raised metal pipeline running down to the sugar house is for pulling the sap into the holding tank on the upper floor. The ladder on the right is for climbing on the roof to open the windows to release steam when boiling sap.

I presume all that white stuff is sugar Lisa.
A really interesting shot and shows a craft and way of life unknown to most of us.
