My friend Kirk and I decided on a whim to go camping in Telegraph Cove on Vancouver Island. We ran into a photographer named Jim Powell in the info centre and he offered to take us out on his fishing boat the next morning. We had the most unbelievably incredible day photographing eagles, bears, whales, dolphins, mink, harbour seals, you name it.
This image was only cropped a tiny bit -- we were that close!
