November 1

We're learing about 4x5 view cameras in school (the kind Ansel Adams used). This is the contact sheet (just an impression of the negative), scanned close to the real size. This beach shot may not look like much, but it took an hour of screwing around with that camera on a cliff in the cold just to get the focusing right (on top of another half hour to develop in the dark while someone shouted "agitate" on the other side of the door) and the countless long minutes I spent scratching the negative trying to put it in the holder. Anyway... like I said, it doesn't look like much but I was so happy something even turned out on the negative. Whew.

other sizes: small original auto

Remember doing some B+W negs myself , a lot of work and time needed. So it made you really compose the shot in the first place.Bit different from the shoot 200 and pic 1 that some people do now. Having said that I will never go back .
