Devil Flower

...ya... the other day on the way home I decided to stop by the liquor store and buy my fiancee a small bottle of one of her favorite drinks. Being right beside the local market I stopped by to pick up a single rose as a small surprise. Unfortunately no one was behind the counter and I couldn't find anyone to help in the time I had available so I grabbed an actual live rose plant as substitute (likely saving it from a horrible death on the shelves of of the store... *pats self on back for good deed done*) and took it home to present in homage.

Brownie points were scored. Goal was accomplished.

Fast forward one day and I decided that I was not giving up on my dream of a single rose and set about trying to get a picture of the single, open blossom on the rose plant. I have a few toys that I bought a little while back and honestly haven't done a lot with (Rogue Honeycomb snoot, Rogue gels, etc) so I decided to try to find a way to use them tonight. I grew bored after 2-3 shots of the color and decided to try to change it up a little bit. This picture is the result.

I NEARLY FORGOT!!! Let's talk about "Devil Flower" for a moment. My fiancee...ever the romantic....looks at the photos I took this evening and says "it looks like a devil flower" ....so much for romantic gestures!
