A large, usually dull-colored member of the Dusky group. This one is missing its front left arm. Many of the salamanders I saw were missing limbs or parts of the tail, and I strongly suspect this is mostly due to shrew attacks, since I saw several shrews under the same logs inhabited by salamanders.
