Jefferson Salamander - Ambystoma jeffersonianum

Sussex County, NJ

The Jefferson is closely related to the Blue-spotted. Note the overall dark color, the very faint blue flecks on the sides and limbs, and the very long, E.T.-like toes. Jeffersons also seem to be much longer-tailed and more streamlined than the Blue-spotted.
