After a couple of days in Bangkok, I went to Samut Sakhon on the Mahachai Shortline on a train that leaves from Thonburi's Wong Wian Yai station. The expedition has a foody theme - Wong Wian Yai station's platform is lined with snack stalls, which you walk past before boarding the train, and the journey terminates when the train powers straight into the town's wet market. It is weird to see stalls just outside the carriage windows as the train comes to a halt.
