5 Ayutthaya

In Ayutthaya I explored the big and sprawling market and, from the back of an elephant, saw a little of the city's famous ruins. Then, in a longtail boat with a female skipper, I circumnavigated the island on which the city centre sits.
After two days I boarded an overnight express train to Chiang Mai.
