2 Vientiane

After a short flight from Kuala Lumpur, I spent nearly three days in Vientiane, looking around and visiting markets and temples. Then I went north-east by bus to begin a cruise down the Mekong, and later returned to Vientiane for a couple more days before flying home. (The extra time was because of a forced change of plan, not because Vientiane is that interesting, delightful though it is.)
