The Wendover, Ut. airshow Sept 2017.
A piece of Utau geologic hustory.
Wendover Utah is on the ramains of what many eons ago was Lake Bonnevile. The great Salt Lake is all that is left of that huge lake. If you look at the closest mountain you will see a horizontal line about three fourths of the way to the top. That line represents a shore line of Lake Bonneville. The lake finally broke free around Idaho and created the Snake river, At one time Lake Bonneville covered parts of Nevada, Utah and Idaho.
If you are ever in the area look for the shore lines they are all over the state. I seem to recall counting up to 5 different lake levels on one mountain.
