Sgt. Patterson one of the good sargents and Pvt. Henderer [Kroot] short for recruit. Henderer was just out of training and posted to Germany. I started calling him Kroot, which he didn't like. Almost to the day that he made PFE I got busted to Recruit over 6 months. Now I was the "recruit" and he was the Pfc. He was so proud of those Skeeter wings. as we called the PFC stripe. I continued to call him Kroot till the day I was sent home for discharge. I guess I was always a wise ass, then and now.
