Skaneateles, New York is a lovely village at the head of Skaneateles Lake in the Finger Lakes. As many communities do, it gets all decked out for the Christmas Holidays. People come from all over for the Dickens Christmas which begins the day after Thanksgiving and goes up to the last weekend before Christmas. Every weekend Dickens characters stroll the streets. You can meet Queen Victoria, Scrooge, and Bob Cratchet to name a few. You can go for a wagon ride and buy roasted chestnuts.
The village park looks a bit strange with snow and autumn leaves on the trees. We had such a warm autumn that many trees had just changed color and hadn't dropped their leaves yet.
