Adana: 2007 to 2008

Adana, Turkey has the largest mosque in Turkey, larger than the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. In fact, after seeing the Adana mosque first, the Blue Mosque lost some of its "wow" factor for me. Also, the Merkez mosque is less crowded and you may wander freely about as long as there isn't a service in session. Adana has over a million people. The riverside park next to the mosque is beautiful and the university has a great view of the Seyhan Lake.
