This secret group was led by "The Great Plebeian" and hero Andrés Bonifacio (seen with outstretched left arm in the middle) who along with
other patriots such as Deodato Arellano, Ladislao Diwa, Valentin Diaz, Jose Dizon, and Teodoro Plata established the "Katipunan" on the
evening of July 7, 1892 at this very spot located at # 72 El Cano cor. Azcarraga Sts. (now Recto Avenue) in Tondo district, Manila.
