At the Piazza di Porta San Giovanni near the monumental statue of St. Francis and his companions (partially hidden)
depicting the Saint's arrival in Rome at this very spot seeking the Pope's approval and official recognition for his congregation.

We were near the Porta Asinaria (along the ancient Aurelian Walls) on the way back to the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano (as seen in the b/g).
