Pampaneira

Capileira (arriba)

Those flat roofs are called "Terraos"
Built with chestnut wood and sheets of slate, they are an excellent insulator from the high mountain cold and are also used for drying fruits in the sun (figs, grapes...).

the town seems so peaceful and sedate, quite the contrast with that stormy sky..

Great shot of this hillside town, and interesting information on those unusual roofs. V.
