Thursday 21 August 2008: s' Häsle

Hare (not a rabbit) studying the 'For Sale' sign on a farm near Scotch Corner. Not sure who was more surprised, the hare or me... I had just stopped to take a breath! What with all the cupcake scoffing, and an early finish at work, I went on a longish ride through lovely country lanes... and saw the hare, some pheasant, Aberdeen Cows, other cows, a pony, a big fat black horse, and a large number of very fast cyclists in tight lycra. Nice.

*innocent whistle*
Und wolltest Du mir net noch was vonnere Erkenntnis erzähle, huh?

Thanks again for the Lekker-athlon idea, honey - I took a picture of it yesterday, I hope it turns out well. It's for a discipline I never thought I'd get, but with your help and inspiration... :-D

A lycrathon?
Christine 22-Aug-2008 14:41
OMG, woman! You just gave me the BEST idea for another Lekker-athlon picture! Thank you, thank you, thank you! *does a little dance around the office*
Christine 22-Aug-2008 14:37

Oh ne... daran will isch gar net denke!

Of course I wear something when swimming - in - a - public - pool. D'oh! >_<

Anja Lieder22-Aug-2008 14:24
Jaaa, Spielverderber! Solle sich doch zuhause un mitm Hoerer an de Kinne mit oelige Kruschtel einreibe... issch mir ja soo voellich schnurz!
Anja Lieder22-Aug-2008 14:23
You wear SOMETHING when swimming??
Christine 22-Aug-2008 14:19
Spielverderber, allesamt! :-)

As I said before I'll probably be the only person to give myself admiring glances in the mirror :-D
Actually, I have to retreat a few inches on my Lycra comment - I wear it when swimming. And the next time you book a hotel for us, make sure it's one with a pool.

Sending you admiring glances through the German rain, pumpkin! ^_^

Wer net will....
Anja Lieder22-Aug-2008 14:08

Falling off your bike? Don't tell me you took off the stabilizers again?! O_o
Lycra looks stoopid, full stop! I normally wear whatever needs to go into the laundry anyway (Great minds think alike!), plus last night I wore my sexy bicycle clips. I looked good enough to eat *wink*
No helmet for me, the only thing I ever hurt when falling off my bike are my knees but the last accident was at least 20 years ago. We have so many cycle paths round here you never have to cycle on busy roads anyway. Out of the >13km last night I cycled on the bike lane of a relatively busy road for about...uhh, 200m max?
No need for gloves either, I've still got my Hercules bike I bought in 1987. Six gears and drum breaks. My mountain bike is probably still somewhere in the UK :-/

Meinscht, 's liest hier no ebber andersch mit? We'mer doch scho über sei liebschts Thema schwätzet... :)

Hallo hallo, was guscht denn hier rum?

the cyclists in Luycra normall just whizz past but they're all friendly and say hello... they are probably worried I am about to fall off my bike :)

Lycra is not for me, and it looks stoopid on a mountain bike... so I got my camouflage culottes and whatever frayed tee that is about to go into the laundry bin... the only thing I insist on is a cycling helmet and protecting my precious paws with soem cycling gloves... we don;t want a taste of our own medicine and get a carpal tunnel do we?
Christine 22-Aug-2008 10:42
Good thing the cyclists in lycra went by fast - I bet they were not a pretty sight ;-)
Did they wear cycling helmets to boot? >_<

PS: Love the title *smile*
