Dave Lowe

I was driving home for lunch and saw this heron in the pond close to the road. I pulled over, got my camera and took the picture through my moon roof. This is the closest I have been to one of these birds so far. He was feeding and I don't know how he saw anything through the algae.

Nice shot! But that poor bird looks like he has boots on...lol. I didn't see the image before you fixed it...but I like the end results.

Do you really think the larger vertical branch can be cloned out? Does someone want to give it a try in the Help gallery? I think I could do the smaller horizontal branch but, not the vertical branch. But, then I'm not very experienced with PSE.

Nice shot...the bird against the green is very striking.

That's not algae. They are millions of little bitty leaves. I can't remember the name of the plant, but it grows plentifully in shallow water and lots of sunlight.

My friend thinks the branches give more depth.

I love the detail in the wings. Nice capture.

Apart from the two twigs in front of the heron - this is a great shot with good detail and focus....
