Southeast of the town of Julian, CA and environmentally destroyed in areas,
it will take a long time for these places to regrow.
Native plants and grasses have been wiped out in some spots
and all that remains are burned stumps, dead shrubs and ash which looks like black sand,
lining the roadways for miles.
Some areas remain green and untouched miraculously as the fires hopscotched their way around.
In this scene you can see exposed debris (including much glass and metal)
which formerly had been hidden by lush growth at a scenic view area.
