No 4 mortar jeeps, as you are thinking of a CAV recon platoon which had 3 x M8 armored cars, 3 x MG scout jeeps and 3 x 60mm mortar jeeps, The 82nd Recon was a heavy unit where the make up was 4 x M8 armored cars, 2 x scout jeeps, 2 x mortar jeeps, 1 x M8 assault gun and 1 x halftrack. I do agree that there should have been more mortar jeeps though and if you look on www.2ndarmoredineurope.com and look up the 2004 trip photos you can indeed see that we had teh correct number of mortar jeeps on that trip. That we did not do so this time, is an example of the slipping standards of authenticity that were so apparant on the 2006 trip

If I am correct I counted 9 greyhounds, so that means there should have been 6 mortar jeeps althogether right ?

This was my mount for most of the trip and let me tell you that you could spend a day checking out all the angles on this Jeep. It was also the only mortar Jeep on the trip this time

fantastic attention to detail here, the burlap anti-mine bags on the peep floor and the MkII and smoke grenades with frabric tape on the actions are worthy of a show winning IPMS kit
