Melissa, there are several ways to get this effect. This shot is a combination of DOF control and PP of the background. I'll email you.

I have the Sony DSC-H1, too. How do I get take pictures like this though??? Have the subject clear and the background blurry? I need help with accomplishing this!!! Thanks so much!!
