This century plant is in my neighborhood. Sorry for all the busy background. The century plant only blooms once a century- lives only 25 yrs. As you can see bloom is quite tall.

The busy-ness of the background adds to the image, IMO. As well as the awesome crop.

Good catch. If you could have caught it when it first started you could have measured its growth by the hour. Maybe it will be even taller tomorrow.
