Loxia curvirostra

Red Crossbills are one of the 'winter finches' which also include White-winged Crossbill, Pine & Evening Grosbeak, Common & Hoary Redpoll, Pine Siskin and Purple Finch. These species are normally found year-round in the boreal forests, but in winter may move south in search of food.
