Worm-eating Warbler

Central Park, NYC

Helmitheros vermivorum

Despite the name, Worm-eating Warblers do not eat earthworms. Their diet consists mostly of insects. They breed close to Central Park, but we see them here only as uncommon spring and fall migrants.

I thought the title was a made up name. With a crown like that they make for great birds.
