Hurricane Frances came up to Hendersonville in early September 2004 and dropped over a foot of rain. A few weeks later Hurricane Ivan followed, and blew down about 5000 trees in Hendersonville, including a huge oak in our garden which pushed over an even bigger tulip poplar on its way, for several hundred feet of downed trees.
