The remains of the visitor center

We visited the just re-opened Big Basin Redwoods State Park two years after the August 2020 CZU lightning complex fires.

Here is the remains of the historic visitor center which burned down in the devastating fires.

The fires destroyed all the infrastructure of the park.

Visiting the park is by reservation only and with limited trail availability.

What a sad view.

pity so much has been destroyed...ongoing climate chaos does not augur well for the future either...the steps to nowhere illustrates the situation well..

Sad sight. At least the trees seem to be making somewhat of a recovery.

Yes, these western fires have been devastating. Nice shot.

That's a lot of devastation, now waiting to heal itself. Seems to happen much too often now.

seem that nature is working hard to regain from that fire!
