The Sandy Beach camps are on the shore of the wide bay in the centre of the image. The Michels' camp is near the small point in the bay.
You can see the sand bars showing how shallow the bay is. The 3 fathom line (18') runs roughly across the mouth of the bay.
The top of the bay is Whiskeyjack Point and the bottom is Grand Point. Long ago there was a dock or wharf at the end of Grand Point.
Chippewa Park is the cleared area in the middle left of the photo.
In the top left corner of the photo the mouth of the Kaministiquia River is just visible, and below that, McKellar Island,
the McKellar River, Mission Island and the Mission River immediately above the top of the log booms.
The very bottom of the photo is Squaw Bay
