This is the first snook I've ever caught. He took a fly that I cast to him on the far side of a mangrove bush. I could only get to him by casting over the mangroves, and I didn't know what would happen if I hooked him. But I figured a snook on the hook with problems is better than no hooked snook at all. The fly somehow landed right in front of him and he sucked it down like he had been waiting for it all day. Miraculously the line did not get hung up in the mangroves and I was able to fight him in fairly open water. He was in the 4-5 pound neighborhood.
