Sometimes it takes a very slight re-lifting to get it in the right position. But then he gives it one last tiny nudge, and it's then off to the deep once more. He then trots back to the step and waits for us to bring it back to him to start all over again.

We think he's playing a game, but he's probably thinking to himself the whole time what a pain in the a$$ it is to play this retriever game every time we're in the pool. Why do they keep putting that stupid thing back on the step, just to make me put it back in the deep end where it belongs? Do they think I have nothing better to do while they're in the pool??
