We found a whole school of Manta Rays while we were crossing the Lagoon one time. Moana shut down the motor and we drifted among dozens of the big rays. We could have petted them from the boat they were so close. Apparently you can also jump in the water with them and ride them around. However, any brief thoughts in this direction were put aside when Moana also suggested that very large sharks like to hang around with them too.

These rays were roughly 6-8 feet across. Not huge for Mantas, but pretty amazing sight by any measure. They were absolutely unafraid of us as we just drifted along with them.
